May 1 marked my one year "anniversary" of my initial surgery on my foot and today marks my one year anniversary of my second surgery. As the month goes and we get into June I will have 9 anniversaries...:-) I went to return some sandals (wedges) that I bought online at DSW because they ended up not working. My "doctored" foot couldn't handle the wedge and my foot has also changed sizes sort of....I used to be a solid 9 1/2 but my foot is difficult and I am now a 9 or 9 1/2.
While returning my wedges I decided to search for some sandals...it was so frustrating because I can't just wear any pair of shoes anymore. I tried on several pairs but they just didn't seem to work. I finally tried on a cute pair of silver gladiator sandals and I think they might work...we shall see. My foot has healed very well this past year but I still have extra fatty tissue on the top of my foot that has still not settled and looks...well, fatty! I have learned to "give it up" and let people stare at my foot because I refuse to wear closed-toe shoes in the summer. :-) I see my surgeon coming up in June so we shall see what he says about lyposuction.
I am attaching a picture of my foot in case anyone is interested in seeing what exactly I am talking about. :-) I also attached a picture of my arm...I know...my arm can be compared to many different sizes, shapes, objects. I have heard shark bite, avocado, balloon and kite. :-) My foot has also been compared to an avocado. haha I have a long way to go (many years) for both of them to heal.

I can not believe it has already been a year! Wow...time really does fly by!! I understand you are frustrated, but your foot really does look amazing (trust me I know...I saw it through all the "phases" haha). And you will get into any shoe you want soon enough :) And you're right...go ahead and let em stare!
You are gonna look awesome in your silver gladiators! :) Love you girl-

It probably doesn't seem to be healing as fast to you b/c you see it everyday. Hang in there! When we're together they can stare at your foot & my ho' on my bad leg! :) What a pair we will be! Love & Miss you!
