Birthday Weekend in San Francisco

For my birthday weekend (February 16), Josh surprised me with a trip to San Francisco. Josh went to San Francisco for work a while back and said he thought I would love it...and I did. We had such a great time seeing everything. We literally walked all over San Francisco---Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, Chinatown, Japantown, curviest street in the United States, Ghirardelli---you name it, we were there!

We also rented a car and drove up to Napa Valley to visit all of the wineries and do some wine tasting. I have always had a hard time finding wine that I like. I am always up to trying it but if I don't like it, I won't drink it. Well, we went to several wineries while we were there and our favorite winery is called V Sattui. I found two wines that I absolutely love: Moscato Frizzante (which has an apricot and peach flavor) and the Gamay Rouge (which has a strawberry/cherry flavor). If you do not like wine or do not agree with drinking, Napa Valley is still absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. Josh and I would love to go back and I am pretty positive we will!

Here are some pictures of our trip!

Me and Josh at Ghirardelli--the poor teenager who took this picture just couldn't get the whole word in-- haha! And by the way, their fudge sundaes are unreal!

San Francisco trolleys--they are so slow. It's just better to walk instead! We walked so much and my surgery foot hurt so bad each night I had to come back and soak it in the tub with Epsom salt!

On the Golden Gate bridge headed to Napa Valley---this was early in the morning so it was quite foggy.

Some funky trees

V Sattui--our FAVE winery of all of them!

Beringer Winery

Windmill

Beautiful vineyard! They are everywhere and so pretty!

We visited a small winery owned by a family and it was called Casa Nuestra. I didn't care for their wine but we still had a great time!

This is Castello di Amorosa---this is the winery that Jake, Vienna and Gia went to on the Bachelor (if there are any Bachelor fans out there.)

Just a peak through a window in Alcatraz

Another window with some birds on it...I like to TRY and be artsy. :-)
